ExamPix : Privacy Policy

ExamPix Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

ExamPix: Exam Photo Resizer ("ExamPix", "the app") helps you resize and prepare exam-form photos, signatures, thumb impressions and declarations. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does with your information.

1. Your photos and files stay on your phone

  • All photo, signature, thumb-impression and declaration processing (cropping, resizing, compression, background clean-up, face check) happens on your device.
  • We do not upload your photos or the files you create to any server. We never see them.
  • Files you save go to your phone's Downloads/ExamPix folder. Files you share are sent only to the app you choose in the Android share sheet.
  • The app keeps a short history of the files you prepared (names, sizes, dates and the saved file location) in storage private to the app, on your device only.
  • My documents: if you choose "Save original to My documents" (or add a document in My Files), the app keeps a copy of that photo, signature, thumb impression or declaration so you can reuse it. These copies are stored only in storage private to the app on your phone. They are never uploaded and never included in Android backups. They are deleted when you tap Remove, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.
  • Face check, document scanning and background replacement all run on your device. Your photos are never uploaded for any of these features.

2. No account, no personal profile

ExamPix has no sign-up or login. We do not ask for your email, phone number or location, and we do not run our own servers that store user data. The declaration helper asks for your name only to fill in the declaration text you copy by hand; the name is stored only on your phone (so you do not have to type it again) and is never sent anywhere.

3. Exam requirements download

The app can download an updated list of exam requirements (photo and signature sizes) from a public web address. This is an ordinary request for a public file. It contains none of your photos, files or personal information. As with any internet request, the server that hosts the file can see technical connection data such as your IP address.

4. Ads and your choices

The free version shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To show ads, Google may collect and use the advertising ID of your device, your approximate location (derived from your IP address), and device and app-usage information, as described in Google's policy.

  • Where the law requires it (for example if you use the app from the EEA or UK) the app first asks for your consent using Google's User Messaging Platform. You can change your choice later in Settings > Ad privacy choices when that option is shown.
  • You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in your Android settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads).
  • Free users see a small banner ad at the bottom of the screen, and occasionally a full-screen ad after a file is saved (never before or during a save). Some PRO tools can be unlocked once by choosing to watch a short video ad. PRO users see no ads.

5. Purchases

ExamPix PRO is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details. The app only checks with Google Play whether this purchase exists on your Google account so it can remove ads and unlock the PRO features (unlimited history, Auto-prepare, White background and the passport photo print sheet). "Restore purchase" in Settings re-checks this with Google Play.

6. Email you send us

If you use "Request an exam" or "Report a wrong requirement", the app opens your email app with a pre-filled message (such as the exam name, document type and requirement details). Nothing is sent unless you press send in your email app. We use the email only to respond and to correct exam data.

7. Permissions

  • Internet and network state: to download exam requirements, load ads and talk to Google Play.
  • Advertising ID: declared by the ads SDK for the purpose in section 4.
  • Google Play billing: to check and make the PRO purchase.
  • Camera: only when you open ExamPix's camera; photos stay on your phone. The permission is asked the first time you open the camera screen. If you say no, you can still pick a photo from your gallery.
  • Storage: only on Android 9 and below, to save finished files to Downloads. Newer Android versions need no storage permission.
  • The ads and Play components also add routine technical permissions (for example wake lock and ad-service access) used only for those functions.

8. Children and age

ExamPix is meant for people aged 16 and over and is not directed to children. Ads are limited to content suitable for teenagers.

9. Your rights and choices

  • Your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act): you can ask to access the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, and withdraw your consent at any time. The only personal data we hold is the email you choose to send us; write to talkandtranslate@gmail.com and we will act on your request.
  • Grievance redressal: if you have a complaint about how your data is handled, write to talkandtranslate@gmail.com (subject "Grievance"). We will acknowledge it and respond as the DPDP Act requires. If you are not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
  • Withdraw ad consent: Settings > Ad privacy choices (shown where consent is required). You can also opt out of ad personalisation in Android Settings > Privacy > Ads.
  • Data on your phone: it is yours. Remove saved originals in My Files > My documents. Clear the app's data (Android Settings > Apps > ExamPix > Storage > Clear data) or uninstall to delete everything the app keeps (history, My documents copies, your declaration name), and delete saved files from Downloads/ExamPix in your file manager.
  • Ad data held by Google: manage or delete it at adssettings.google.com and see Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
  • EEA/UK: if you use the app from the EEA or UK, the GDPR / UK GDPR gives you similar rights.
  • Retention: we keep emails you send us only as long as needed to respond and fix exam data.
